Masala Twist - Chai Tea Recipe
January is National Tea Month and to kick off our month-long celebrations Masala Twist Indian Restaurant have shared their infamous chai tea recipe, this makes 2 cups of tea.
One and a half cups of water 3/4 of a cup of milk Freshly crushed ginger Crushed green cardamom 1/4 cinnamon stick 2 tea bags (normal teabags, Tetley, Yorkshire, Twinings - whatever you drink!) Sugar to taste, a spoonful or two.
Boil the water on the hob and add tea bags, ginger, cardamom and cinnamon stick.
Let it boil for around 5 mins on high heat then add milk, bring it to boiling point and simmer for around about 5-10 mins or until the froth on the milk has gone then just add sugar and let it simmer for another few minutes before straining into your cup of choice.
