7 family friendly restaurants to eat in this weekend

Glasgow has so many great, family friendly eateries meaning going out with the kids is NOT restricted to fast food venues where the options are minimal.

Don't be stuck for inspiration!

We have pulled together 7 restaurants for you to take the kids to this weekend and encourage them to try something new in a family friendly environment.

The Square, Broomhill

The not so new kid on the block recently won Best Newcomer at the Entertainment Awards this year and welcomes families to its great space in Broomhill.

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from the West End and Finnieston, they offer a great menu for the little ones that includes fish and chicken and fruit options.

Iberica, Glasgow City Centre

In Spain, Sunday is all about spending time with family and friends and enjoying good food and wine together. That’s why at Iberica, kids eat for free on Sundays so why not head on in and let them enjoy something a little different. Your family will be welcomed with open arms and in true Spanish style.

Jamie's Italian, Glasgow City Centre

You won't find any average burgers and soggy chips here! At Jamie's the kids eat what the adults eat and can choose from a selection of goodies such as fish stew, organic beef burgers and gnocchi to name but a few. They love to feed the whole family and see them enjoying great meals together.

Metropolitan, Merchant City

Located in the heart of the Merchant City, long time Glasgow favourite is the perfect setting to enjoy a cocktail whilst the kids can have a hearty meal and a play in the square, hours of fun for little ones letting you enjoy some food without having to shout "get off that table" once.

Sapporo Teppanyaki, Merchant City

We have yet to meet a family who has not left this place with full bellies and big smiles. The kids love the theatre of the chefs cooking in front of you and trying to catch food in their mouths not to mention a great menu that is child friendly and adventurous all at once. They often hold family days with activities for the kids ensuring eating out is great fun for all the family.

Chez Mal, Glasgow City Centre

Eating out in beautiful places doesn't mean family free dining. Chez Mal in the City Centre is a quirky setting with a great menu for the kids that includes steak, fish and cottage pie. They will love to look at the amazing art and bright colours and team GRA can tell you first hand that the new summer menu is divine. Check out some photos from last week when we tasted the summer menu HERE.

Masala Twist, Byres Road

If the kids like to spice things up a bit, Masala Twist, in the West End of the City love to welcome families and encourage the little ones to try new things. They are more than happy to offer milder suggestions but often find that little ones are more resilient to a little heat than we realise and if not, they can fill up on popadoms, chutney and raita like some of the GRA kiddies do.
